Bonita is a dedicated effort of partner universities, laboratories, industrial actors and policy makers to develop the Baltic Sea Region into a region of innovation by facilitating the efficient transfer of knowledge between universities and businesses in the area.
In this editorial address, bonita project manager Dr. Michael Boronowsky gives us an overview of the structure of the bonita network, and shows us how the horizontal trans-regional networks as well as the vertical networks between regional, organizational and public sectors can work together in creating a area of innovation in the Baltic sea region. The Creation of a bonita Transfer Model
The creation of a tech transfer model for a wide reaching and complex consortium such as bonita requires a thorough process that requires creating a solution /consolidation that best suits the network, as well as one that builds upon existing tech transfer models within the individual members. To this end, the bonita partners employ various strategies from literature research, SWOT analysis, to internal evaluations as they develop an appropriate and successful tech transfer model. Conference on Technology Transfer and Transfer Capability Maturity Models
Bonita consortium members conducted a 3-day conference, beginning on January 11, 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania, to discuss Technology Transfer models and explore the different methods in which an enhanced innovation and technology transfer model can be implemented in the region. Read more »

The bonita Showrooms
The establishment of showrooms – spaces for demonstrating technologies in a tangible and accessible fashion as well as a space for workshops, seminars, and lectures – is one of the key objectives of the bonita project. The driving idea behind the showrooms is the reinforcing of the exchange of experiences between partners as well as technology interest groups in the region.
Bonita partners involved in the Work Package 3 (WP3) met in Tampere, Finland, to coordinate the activities and address crucial issues that will lead up to the launch of the physical and virtual showrooms in March 2011. Read more »

New opportunities for bonita stakeholders
The bonita partners and stakeholders have to be aware of new project, network and cooperation opportunities. In order to realize regional ICT ideas, partners have to be aware of the financing and events that Brussels can offer.
Brussels is a hub for interregional cooperation between all kinds of stakeholders from all sorts of sectors. Brussels is the center of EU financing and hence the city that can turn regional ideas into international projects. Regional profile: The region of Southern Denmark is the European Welfare Tech region of the future
Southern Denmark Growth Forum, an organisation that supports regional development, has announced that it will grant 7 million EUR for a three year project in welfare technology, a term that covers design and development of aids, appliances and services in the nursing sector. The project, called Welfare Tech Region, has a total budget of 10 million EUR and a potential of creating 500 jobs and establishing 50 new companies in the region. Read more »
